Why IPO Listing exists
IPO Listing was built because the primary market in India moves fast — SME and mainboard issues open and close within days, grey market premium (GMP) numbers shift by the hour, and allotment status pages from registrars are clunky and inconsistent between issues. We wanted a single, calm place to see what's open, what the unofficial market thinks an issue is worth, and whether we got allotted — without handing our PAN or phone number to yet another app.
We are a small, India-focused editorial and product team. We are not a broking firm, a merchant banker, a research analyst, or a SEBI-registered investment adviser. IPO Listing is a media and information product: we aggregate, organise and explain publicly available data so that retail investors can make their own informed decisions.
Where our data comes from
We do not run our own allotment or listing database from scratch — we pull from and cross-check the same public sources every serious investor already relies on:
- Registrars — KFin Technologies (KFintech), MUFG Intime India (formerly Link Intime) and Bigshare Services publish allotment status directly; our checker routes queries to whichever registrar handled a given issue.
- Market data providers — subscription figures, price bands and timelines are cross-referenced against NSE bidding data and syndicate/market trackers such as InvestorGain, alongside issue prospectuses (RHP/DRHP filings).
- Grey market premium (GMP) — GMP is an unofficial, unregulated, over-the-counter number reported by market intermediaries. We display it as a sentiment indicator only, sourced and averaged from multiple dealer-reported feeds, never as a guarantee of listing gains.
- Corporate filings — dates, lot sizes and price bands are validated against exchange circulars and offer documents wherever possible before publication.
Our editorial policy
We publish factual, dated market information and educational guides — not stock tips. Specifically:
- We never accept payment from an issuer, merchant banker or registrar to feature, rank or favourably describe an IPO.
- GMP and subscription numbers are labelled with their source and update time wherever shown.
- We do not issue "apply" or "avoid" recommendations. Our calculators and trackers show data; the decision to invest is always yours, ideally after reading the RHP and consulting a licensed adviser.
- Guides under /learn are written and reviewed in-house, updated when SEBI process rules change, and dated at the bottom of each article.
How we make money
IPO Listing is free to use and funded entirely by display advertising, including Google AdSense. We do not sell "guaranteed allotment" services, paid GMP tips, or leaked application data — anyone claiming to sell those things is not affiliated with us. Ads are clearly labelled and kept away from data-entry fields such as the allotment checker so that advertising is never confused with functionality. Read our privacy policy for details on the cookies advertising partners use.
Corrections & accuracy
IPO timelines, price bands and GMP figures can change after publication. If you spot an error — a wrong date, an outdated price band, or a stale GMP figure — please tell us via the contact page. We aim to review correction requests within 2 business days and will update the affected page with a visible "last updated" note. Persistent or material errors are logged internally so the same mistake doesn't recur on future issues.
IPO Listing is an independent, editorially-run publication. For ownership queries, press requests, data corrections or partnership questions, use our contact form or email support@ipodesk.example.
